Costomer service lies and tricks you into giving them your credit card

I started booking 6 tickets from ny to Dallas I realized that I don't have all passengers full info I asked the guy on the phone who was suppose to help me that I will call again the next day after I gather all info . The GUY refused to let me hang up and promised me that it's not a problem at all within 24 hrs I will be able to update everyones names as long as I give him the cc my sits are secured and again I will have no problem updating my file like giving some DOB that I didn't have for a few of us . I called today already 3 times totall of 3 hrs on the phone .the first person said that it will cost us 25$ each change when I started arguing with him he conviniatly disconnected me same happened 3 hrs later after a very long wait as soon as they heard they will need to assist me they were gone I am now again on the line for 45 min after I was told to hold on for 1 min ..... I'm still holding.,,,,, They don't know who they started up with... I know all the ins and out I will not pay the tickets however please everyone be carful they are very not honest and have the lousiest Costomer service !!!!!! There are much better sites that are very reliable .

They bank on peoples mistakes and that is where they make their money. They are rude and arrogant and don't use excellent customer service. They can barely speak English and I do believe that this is a scam.

CheapOAir Fooled Me Twice

First time was summer of 2014, I bought a flight for my mom from Branson, MO to Palm Springs, CA. My credit card was charged twice! And it took literally hours to get them to reverse the charges. Second time was now, booking a flight from Branson, MO to Chicago, IL one way. Flight was changed and CheapO didn't call me. It's a good thing I checked, otherwise we'd be up the creek. I was so incensed that I told them to cancel my reservation and up yours! I am a very passive person but dealing with this company got on my last nerves! And everytime I called them, I think they're based in India, and I'm sorry, we just couldn't understand each other :(

Cheapoair - Tickets Booking Review from New York, New York

Like many other reviewers, I too was the victim of this company's bait and switch pricing that suddenly became "unavailable" when I tried to submit payment. Contacted customer service to resolve (I call *** that 4 seats availAble since noon were coincidentally purchased at the exact time 7 hrs later when I attempted to reserve). Following my tirade re: unsavory /unethical/ scammer marketing tactics the Rep performed some dramatic call center theatrics and "miraculously" secured the best available pricing (125% of advertised price), but I'd have to buy on the spot. Seven hrs later I still don't know if I'll be traveling tomo, since the reservation hasn't been ticketed yet. Are they waiting for a better opportunity to come along??? Not sure how this company is still in business and/or has escaped regulatory guidelines aimed at protecting consumers. Also don't know why a reputable company like kayak would partner w such a questionable operation and expose itself to this kind of reputational risk by association.

Well you don't have to book with them if the price is higher, but seems like they were giving you the actual cost showing up on other websites, otherwise why would you book with them????

Curt service and Rip off prices!

Dear Sir or Madam; I have been on hold for 25+ minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor. While we travel frequently this is the first time I have used cheapoair. It is also probably the last. Cheapoair has charged me $500.85 per night to stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle. The following websites charge $355 per night: Expedia,Kayak, Hotels. com, Booking.com,Venere.com, Priceline.com, Travelocity ancancel our whole booking. I c610-213-****. Never use cheapo air!!!!

I purchased a ticket in August to fly from Denver to Patagonia, Chile. Luckily right before Christmas, I decided to check my seats one more time. the airline had changed the first leg of my flight to leave later, arriving in Miami 2 hours AFTER my next flight was to depart for Chile. Cheapoair did not notify me nor did the airlines. The airlines said I had to go through cheapoair to get new flights. On Saturday, the cheapo air rep was rude and unhelpful. They are based in Delhi. I was put on hold many times, refused a supervisor, and finally told to call back Monday (they don't even answer the phones on sunday). On Monday after many holds, the rep had it fixed and said I would get an email on Tuesday. No email on Tuesday and the LAN airline site still had me on the original schedule....I then talked with a cheapoair rep who said nothing had been fixed but that he would fix it. He took my number in "case we get cut off". We got cut off and he never called back. I am now on hold with another rep who says she has it fixed and put me on hold to confirm with LAN air.... still on hold...it has been 20 minutes,,,,We will see. I will NEVER use these guys again!

I recently bought 2 flights for my new employees arriving from overseas to my home here in Canada. Because of a U.S. immigration technicality, I had to cancel their flights through Cheapoair but chose to rebook through Cheapoair so that my new employees could fly a different route that wouldn't have them touch down in the U.S.A. Cheapoair said that they would arrange a credit for the first flights that were booked and then cancelled. Within the hour I received the credit. The credit said that there was a $0.00 USD cancellation fee and that I had a credit of $876.22 USD for the unused flights. I decided that I would like to use that credit with Cheapoair this coming weekend and fly return from Calgary to San Francisco. When I placed my call I ended up speaking with someone from India. The Cheapoair representative in India said that they didn't have the credit and that I should talk to West Jet because that's where my credit was. I called West Jet and they said that there was no credit with them. I called cheapoair back and ended up speaking with someone in India again. The Cheapoair representative at that time told me that West Jet had in fact refunded my flight back onto MY Visa card. I didn't recall ever seeing a credit on my Visa so I placed a call to Visa to inquire if there ever was a credit that I may have missed. My Visa representative said that there definitely wasn't any refund on my Visa from West Jet or Cheapoair. I called West Jet and they advised me once again that I wasn't in their system anywhere. West Jet advised me that all of their ticket numbers start with "838" and that I should call Cheapoair back and get the flight numbers for my two new employees. At this point I feel like I'm in a game of "piggy in the middle". I don't blame West Jet for this. I call Cheapoair back and once again my call lands in India. The Cheapoair representative confirms two ticket numbers that I can then take back to West Jet. I call West Jet and they CONFIRM that a refund was sent to the visa number that was provided to them by Cheapoair. The problem with the Visa number was that it wasn't my Visa number, but a Visa number that belonged to Cheapoair. I learned this when I called Cheapoair back to advise them that West Jet had already released the money to a Visa card but the Visa card wasn't mine. The Cheapoair representative put me on hold like they had done all day. ON HOLD AGAIN! The representative came back on the phone and confirmed that West Jet IN FACT had refunded the money back to Cheapoair's Visa. I asked when they planned on forwarding it to me. The Cheapoair representative said that two billing cycles (two months) were needed to execute the refund. The Cheapoair representative said that he would have to put me on hold AGAIN so that he could transfer me to their admin department. I held and then got cut off. As you can see in my account of the day so far, I've called Cheapoair several times and found myself on hold for a minimum of five minutes. Then when I do get through to someone, I have to go through all the details again and then guess what? I'm back on hold. I finally insist on speaking to a supervisor from North America. I figure maybe the office in India is too far removed from this American company. I finally get a call from the American office of Cheapoair and they agree that two billing cycles is needed to refund but then recognized that I was well past the two cycles (two months). The representative from Cheapoair takes down all of the details AGAIN and says she will go to her manager with the issue and get back to me. I wait and then finally get a call back. The American Cheapoair representative advises me that the credit they sent me was a credit and not a refund. In short, they got the refund from West Jet but were only "obligated" to give me a credit. I said "fine! Put the credit towards my flight from Calgary to San Francisco that leaves this Thursday and don't delay because there is limited space left and prices keep climbing. The Cheapoair representative then advised me that they refunded within 90 days if I wanted the refund instead of the credit. I asked her what happened to the two billing cycles that I was quoted earlier. She said that she and the people in India were mistaken and that it was a 90 day waiting period for all refunds. The whole time I'm dealing with this Cheapoair representative she's reminding me that she's going to work for me and that she's my friend and that I shouldn't be short on patience with her. She advised me that once again she would have to go to her managers and "fight" for my cause. I waited a few minutes and got the call back from her. This time she pointed out that she would like to apply my credit in place of the refund but couldn't because the ticket's were issued to the two new employees, and pointed out that she recognizes that my Visa bought the flight's, but the credit was for the use of the two employees because it was their name on the ticket and not mine. She said that if I waited another month I would get a refund of $720.00 USD. I asked why I wasn't getting the full $876.22 USD because the refund voucher from Cheapoair CLEARLY stated that I was being charged $0.00 USD for the cancellations of the said tickets. She just mumbled that I had to pay a cancellation fee. So the summary of this experience with Cheapoair is that I have to pay a cancellation fee even though their voucher CLEARLY states that there is no cancellation fee. I have to wait 90 days for a refund that they have long collected from West Jet. In essence Cheapoair is sitting on my money and collecting interest of which I will see none of it. Cheapoair has collected the refund from West Jet but chooses only to give me a credit, but not to me, but to the names of the passengers at that time? In short I'm out of pocket for my flight to San Fransisco this weekend and I may or may not get a refund from Cheapoair. All Cheapoair had to do was apply the money owed to me to the flights I needed this weekend and things would be fine and I wouldn't be adding to the long list of blogs warning people to stay away from doing business with Cheapoair. When I pointed this out to Cheapoair they weren't interested. I plan on reporting Cheapoair to both the BBB and to West Jet. I will NEVER do business with Cheapoair again and I suggest you don't either.

This company is so phony I can't believe it. Half of them can't speak properly and they are rude.

I was promised a call back, and 7 days later, haven't received one. I am going to the BBB and to the TV networks to advise them about this scam. By the way, the owner of Fareportal is wanted by the US Govt., and he is hidden away. I read an article about him.

Any wonder why this company has so many hundreds of complaints. They never resolve it in our favor.

Deplorable service; incompetent employees

Cheapoair is by far the worst online travel agency I've ever had to deal with. Their customer service is completely deplorable. Their call centers are in India and besides the language barriers, their employees are arrogant and do not listen. A booking issue arose on an international ticket due to Cheapoair charging my credit card multiple times for the same trip. Their employees were unhelpful, did not listen when I tried to explain the problem, and were downright rude. I requested a US based supervisor and was refused a transfer. Several agents had similarly bad attitudes. It has been over a week and I'm still waiting for a refund for their mistake. The $5 you might save by booking with these thugs is not worth the hassle; go elsewhere!

Ridiculously hurt our consumer rights

Before I write this report, I've been searching through internet about this Company, (Cheapoair). There are hundreds complaints about schedule change from Cheapoair. It is the time to stop them. Here are the stories. I bought three tickets on May 5th 2013 from cheapoair, the flight was supposed to be scheduled as depart on 01/27/2014 and back on 02/19/2014. But instead, my return flight has been change to 02/24/2014. The airlines had made couple times schedule change for my booking, and cheapoair always send me the email with the link that you can accept the schedule change. I always click the link and accept the schedule change. ALWAYS. On 01/20/2014, they send me an email about schedule change from airlines, but this time doesn't include the link that you can click to accept the schedule change. Instead, the email contain information about schedule change and ask me to call to confirm the schedule change, also if I can't reach them by phone the email said i can simply just reply the email with a "I accept the schedule change" in subject line. Well, at the first time I already have hesitation about this situation, so i decide to call first. The number that I dial was a number for Department of schedule change from cheapoair, which they don't even pick it up for hours. Then I have no choice, but to reply the email with "I accept the schedule change" on the subject line. On January 26 2014 (One day before my flight) an email from cheapoair sent to me and said that they are unable to retrieve my booking, and ask me to call the schedule change department again. Note that 01/26/2014 is Sunday as i remember, the day that the schedule change department is close. I was terrified, shocked. I try to call again and speak with sales department; they finally transfer me to a person who can handle my booking. And He said that my booking is good to go. So then finally I had my flight on 01/27/2014. Here goes the problem when i supposed to have my return flight on 02/19/2014. We were at the airport and try to check in, but the staff of Saudi Arabian airlines told us that our flight has been moved to 02/24/2014. We were Shocked! There is no way that we will accept that. First, it's 5 days different. 5 days means 5 days accommodation, food, and transportation. 5 days means 5 days wages loss. Secondly, I brought a Senior citizen who needs a medical assistance. I tried to call cheapoair internationally, but the hold is way too long and it's cost a lot for every second that I’ve been hold on line. So i decided to call my sister in law who live at California to help me to call. She finally transferred to a manager after hours waiting on hold. The Manager offers us a flight on 02/20/2014, and even willing to take care our accommodation and transport. So we accept that! But the terrifying is not end there. On 02/20/2014 morning 6:00 am an email from cheapoair came, and it said that they are unable to give us the flight. Again i have to bother my Sister in law to make another call. This time the manager didn't offer we anything but ask us to pay another $3000 so she can give us a flight that day. It ridiculous! So we tell her that we going to buy our own tickets from other travel agents, and will take legal actions later. But the manager said that she will try to work with our refund. We've been fight for our rights almost half of year now. Been made a hundreds calls to cheapoair. They always confuse us with the refund, sometimes they said that we have to call customer representatives to close the "open" tickets so they can refund the tickets, sometimes they said that my booking number is not on the system, sometimes they said that don't have any manager or supervisor available. It's been an exhausting and stressful effort that we gave to this case. Cheapoair said that they already work with the airlines, and they send me a $141 refund as they said that they only can refund the tax that I paid on tickets. I mean, really? $141 it's not even worth for every call that i made to cheapoair. I think everyone who wrote that complaints about cheapoair in internet need to unite in a group and stop them (CHEAPOAIR) as one. We need to fight for our Consumer rights. For everyone who wants to join me, I am ready! Just send me an email at susanto.jhon@***.com and we can go from that. Booked my first flight and picked a date .Didnt realize hit the alternate date on my phone.Flight date was important due to emergency !!!!! My flight was changed to 3 days later.Not that you can hey wait on your emergency .Hold on for three days I will get there to late.Ggggrrrr.Never use this site again.

This seems to be your mistake, why would you blame it on cheapoair? many websites offer flexible date options to make the ticket more affordable.

Maybe next time look over what your booking, or better yet, use a computer and not your phone! why didn't you just call and make the change.

They count on people making mistakes so that they can charge unreasonable cancellation fees. If you haven't used them, perhaps you shouldn't comment. If you lost $1500 maybe you wouldn't be so critical.

Refund due to cancellation for health

My husband has health issues. I cancelled our flight from Spokane to Edinburgh.On Sept. 28th I called Cheapoair to notify you. Cheapoair said to call back on the day of the flight, Oct. 1. I said I thought I should do it sooner than the day of the flight. You keep,records of your calls. Check this yourself. When I called on Oct. 1 early, the Cheapoair representative took the information and told me what to do to start a request. I filled out the form. Then I was told I needed a doctors report. I got the doctors report, then I waited and when you called you said the report was not complete enough. I called the doctor back and they said because of HIPA rules I needed to sign a form for them to release more information. I got the form and returned the form to the doctor who then filled it out again and we submitted it for the second time. I waited and was told bu Cassie Goff you now wanted to know why I WAITED so long to do all this. Now you wNt another letter from the doctor dated Oct. 1. The doctor said enough of these games. I did call you on Sept. 28th after my husband had been getting dizzy due to his blood pressure meds being changed and having had some falls in the past causing hematoma leaking. Rather than waiting to see if he might have a stroke on the trip, I cancelled prior to Oct. 1. Why did Cheapoair tell me to wait until Oct. 1 and after all these multiple requests from us and the doctor you now say. I should have called sooner. Check YOUR records. I DID call sooner. YOU told me to wait and now say it was me who waited. I am going to make a complaint to the Att. General if you people keep running around the issue of the safety of my husband in taking this flight and coming up with a different excuse every time I satisfy what you ask for.

Price went from $909 to $2431.81 but was still advertised at 909

I found a good price on KAYAK and followed the link to cheapoair. I filled out the form and when i submitted it the price had more than doubled. The lower price was (is) still being advertised. This is apparently not a reputable company. This is more than a glitch its a bait and switch and illegal. I am awaiting a response to my complaint. Very disturbing that this company now has my credit card details. I am not at all confidence that they are safe in the hands of these scam artists. I would just avoid this company all together.

Most Good things about cheapoair is they have great number 1 ranking customercare and supervisor staff...

They are always on number 1 to give troubles to customer.

Change in Schedule

I will list my steps:

1) Step One - On May 30, 2014 - I booked a reservation (see below) with CheapOAir (reservation number 2188****).

2) Step two - I updated the reservation to accommodate my son. Weeks go by - no problem.

3) Step three- I receive an email on July 21, notifying me of a major change. I follow directions and decline the change. I send an email. I never hear back. I try again and then I tried the online chat. I finally called and called from overseas where I work and spend over fifty dollars. One person hung up but I got ahold of Flynn and gave him the data. He promised to take care of it. I could barely hear Flynn because it was a poor connection and I had to keep shouting the reservation number because he said he could not hear me.

4) Step 4- I got an email stating I had a $95.00 refund - not the full amount. I called again and spent $30 with two hang ups before I gave up and realized that Cheap O Air would never return my calls, reply to my emails, or in any way get back to me. it was too expensive to keep calling. It was a sad realization that I am probably going to lose $600 to this company, but I will follow up with complaints to the BBB and other agencies. I feel veryone should be told about the low quality of CheapoAir.

5) I have followed directions and requested a full refund. I have not even seen the promised $95.00. I would avoid this company. Unfortunately, they also have my hotel reservation. I can only hope it is ok.

Again, I would rather work it out. It just seems that Cheapoair has no intention of assisting me.

I just received the exact same notice today, and have tried twice to call them. On hold for 1 hour the first try and 45 minutes the 2nd try.

I billed through American Express, so I hope that they will fight the charges for me, and issue a refund. I have $650.00 in limbo right now.

I always use Expedia or Orbitz when booking my vacations and have never had a problem. I should have checked this websight first.

I booked and paid for my flight, and weeks later I received an urgent message that the airline has revised the reservation. So I had to accept the alternative flight or ask for full refund. The alternative flight took me more than 2 days traveling for a normal 23 hours journey. So I asked for refund. It was too late to find a reasonable flight so I paid about $800 more. And the worst is that they told me that the refund process takes 1-2 billing period that means about 30 -60 days. I had to borrow money from my friends to be able to pay for new flight :((((((( NO DOUBT the first and the time for booking with Cheapoair!!!!!

Very sorry to hear you have experienced an airline operational change, which put's many customers in an inconvenience. Travel agencies such as CheapOair.com do not have any control over airline canceling routes, flights, or service all together, all agencies can do is provide you with the alternative flights the airline presents.

It's a misconception that travel agencies change, or cancel reservations, that is not the case. As for the refund, the time frame is determined by the airline,due to the accounting process it takes.

It's an involved process, not anything like a return at a store. There is a possibility that the refund will take less than the time expressed to you, we do apologize for the inconvenience.

Booked a ticket for around 280$, was charged over 1300, 280$ by cheapoair and 1020 by Jetstar. Called cheapoair right away, they said they only charged 280$, and know nothing else, provided them with the ticket booking receipt from Jetstar, they asked for a credit card statement. Still not resolved but cheapoair took their money, then they gave my information to jetstar (the airline) and they too their money. They told us to wait until the charges go through to see the credit card billing statement, and after that, no one answers our emails. What they tell they charge is not what they charge, they provide your personal and credit card information to other companies and on top of all you will be on hold for hours just to talk to someone who doesnt speak English. Does anyone know of any lawsuits against them?

I found a charge from a company that is in the country that I was going to visit. Cheapoair was the only link to my trip!

Somehow my credit card was fraudulently charged for more than $200 USD. Fortunately, I saw the fraud and immediately disputed the charge and (had to) cancel that card number.

Cheap o air agent booked wrong flights - want to talk to the president!

I am having the same problems with cheap o air!! I have called three times. I set up our original reservation with Nataly. we spoke for almost two hours. My youngest daughter got a major surgery in June and my father passed away in July. We are trying to go have a great relaxing vacation with our family. I was told they would check the recording and get back to me. I received an email that said they tried to reach me but could not. I called back. I was told I would get a call back within 24 to 48 hrs. I had not heard from them so I called and emailed again. I received an email again saying they could not reach me. I gave them my number 503515**** They called my home phone. I was told it would be 200.00 each ticket for my daughters to switch their flight to the destination I asked for them to fly into (Kauai) (lih) on October 18th, 2014. My fiancé and I are flying into Maui (Kahalui) on October 14th to the 18th then we are taking a short hopper to Kauai where we were supposed to meet my girls for our 9 day vacation there. I never asked for them to go to maui!!!!! Why would I? so I can pay for short hopper flights to get them where Nataly was supposed to have had them coming into in the first place. I am so extremely frustrated right now I do not know what to do!!! I need help I have no more money to spare. Last time I used them I was double charged at my hotel. I want to talk with the president!!! I am leaving in less then a month. I have spent over 7 hrs dealing with this mess up I was told was not the agents mess up on a recording this morning. We spoke for 2 hrs listen to the whole recording!

Customer booked over the phone back in August, she just called us to inform that the flight was booked incorrectly. Calling us within 4-24 hours of making the booking could of prevented this from happening, if the confirmation was reviewed immediately for accuracy.

However, after reviewing the call between the customer and nataly, it was determined there was no error on the agents part.

At this time the customer and COA have reached an agreement, with no financial burden to the customer!
